Flashback Friday: Shamrock Shake Recipe

Flashback Friday: Shamrock Shake Copycat Recipe by Katie Crafts; https://www.katiecrafts.com

It’s Flashback Friday!! St. Patrick’s Day is still a couple of weeks away, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t already be prepping. . .with a Shamrock Shake! I tried this copycat recipe out two years ago and it tastes just as good (if not better than!) the McD’s version. Make it yourself with the SUPER simple instructions and ingredients listed! Be sure to PIN & SHARE the infographic below so all your friends and followers can make one too!

In case you need them written out as well, here are the ingredients!

Ingredients (makes 2):

  • 2 cups of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 1/4 cups of of 2% milk
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract*
  • 10 drops of green food coloring (I used NEON green, but you can use regular green!)**
  • green sugar crystals to decorate, if so inclined

*Feel free to use regular mint extract if that’s what you have on hand. Additionally, the Husband doesn’t like things too pepperminty so I used 1/4 tsp in this batch. Personally, I like more mint, so I will double up on the peppermint for the next round. It’s all to taste, so do what you like!

**You don’t HAVE to use food coloring if you don’t want to. It doesn’t lend anything to the taste, it just makes it festive.

If you make this yummy St. Patrick’s Day treat, let me know how it turned out in the comments below! Maybe once the warm weather hits, we will try some more DIY milkshake recipes too. 🙂
