Tenth Day of Christmas: Printable Art

♫ On the tenth day of Christmas, Katie Crafts gave to me- Words for Wednesday to print and frame! ♫

Today is a “12 Days of Christmas” and “Words for Wednesday” cross-over! Instead of just posting a quote I like, I am posting it in the form of a free digital download, for you to print, frame and give as a gift this Christmas.

A few months ago, I participated in a Teacher Gift event with Reddit Gifts. Some participants were randomly drawn to receive a free year of Reddit Gold or Reddit Elves, and I was one of them! I chose Elves and am currently involved in two holiday exchanges! One is a Holiday Card exchange, where you simply send a card (or in my case, a card and a $5 gift card to Starbucks to get a warm drink) to your “Secret Santa” redditor.

The second exchange is of the gift variety! The person I pulled did not fill out their profile with the likes and dislikes that Reddit suggests you answer to make gift giving easier, but rather simply wrote that he likes “music and whatnot” along with his t-shirt size. I was pretty stumped on what to get him.

Armed with the knowledge of his shirt size, I found an amazing ridiculous t-shirt on Ript that will hopefully arrive at my house soon so I can get it in the box! I probably should have ordered myself one too, because it’s that great. Except I’m not sure which of the Avengers/Cereal ones I would have chosen. The shirts are all sold out but the matching coasters are still available, in case you love them too.

I also ordered my giftee some silly socks with little 8-Bit Invaders on them from Sock Dreams, and have a Santa hat to include in the package. I still needed something else. Since I don’t know the TYPE of music he likes, I tried to think of things involving music in general. I thought perhaps a nice print from Etsy with a music quote on it would be nice- then I remembered, “Um hello, Katie! You can make that!” and so I did.

I made it as minimalistic as possible, in case he doesn’t like flashy things on his walls. I kept to gray text and a single red line so that it is pretty gender neutral. It’s border-less, as you can see below. I made it 8×10 so that I could frame it myself. The quote comes from the great Stevie Wonder and states,

“Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand.”

To finish it all up, I bought a plain black frame for it to go in that I think looks pretty nice! What do you think?

If you would like to print this so you may frame and gift it yourself, you can download it right here!

And don’t forget to enter my big giveaway! It ends on Friday!
